The forest sensed slightly different that night. The canopy had always hidden a good portion of the sun’s fading brilliance, but it seemed even less bright among the trees that checkered Lerris’ favorite sparring place. The thick trees finally gave way to a small clearing where the grass was no longer green due to excessive trampling. Lerris was the guilty one in that case. It was one of the reasons he only used this spot anymore. He didn’t want to do this much damage anywhere else, so he just continued to trample the dead ground. It had gotten to the point that the difference between dead and living grass was easy to determine even in the lack of light.
Lerris’ thoughts remained on what the Blade master had said about wanting it. Oh, it was easy for him to decide in his head that he deserved to be trained, but it was an entirely different thing to truly believe that he deserved training. A decision was not enough. Belief… belief was hard to define. Lerris knew that belief was important to all men and women in the world, especially those who did not have powers or jobs that placed them in the war that held the world in its claws. Belief that there were people fighting, or the belief that there was nothing wrong. A false belief, but a helpful one for the common folk.
A sound behind Lerris was his only warning and he spun into a ready position. He shifted his movement slightly into the defensive form, catching his opponent’s sword in its high attack and ending up behind the newcomer. Mildly surprised, the other man turned around. He was ready for combat, as was Lerris. This one was not afraid of fighting dirty. So be it. Lerris opened with a low kick that brought the other man’s sword down and the opponent only barely deflected the high slash that followed. The Fight had begun.
After a time of fighting with the mystery man, he came close enough to attack and used it to his advantage, though the other man’s sword was there to deflect. Lerris’ sword cut right through his opponent’s weakened sword, and then through his opponent’s neck. Both pieces fell to the ground as did the man. Lerris fell to his knees trying to catch his breath, the man lay motionless looking to the sky. The Elven scout stood slowly, and shook his head down at his broken sword...Blade Master Abbot would not be too happy about his sword....or the dead human..
He turned quickly and another figure stood before him. "Ya naa lle?" (Who are you) Sheathed behind his back sat a knife, he slowly reached for it, his eyes never leaving the one whom stood before him. The figure did not answer..perhaps it was a human... "Who are you?"

"Who am I," Rowen inquired of the man. She, as she always had, wore an all black cloak, that hid all but her bloodred lipstick, and silver eyes. She would not be seen until ready.d
"I should be asking you," she said smoothly, yet at the same time, condescendingly.
"I am not the one who had just slain, am I?"

Lerris starred ahead, a hand gripped around his knife with white knuckles. What do you say too a person whom has just witnessed you kill another without knowing the reason? "No, no you are not...But perhaps you are ready too..." The knife was quickly out of it's sheath and at the figures neck, "Now...." Said the elven scout, "You have two choices, Die...or show yourself...it's that simple.."

"Is there any need for this?" A soft gentle voice could be heard behind him. "I mean no harm. You can trust me but that is your choice. The elf said, her deep silver eyes gleaming brightly, small strands of her black hair fell about her fair face. The strange elf stood still as her blue robes flowed lightly about her, a sword was strapped to her side. Crescent wasn't the one to kill anyone, not unless she had to, being the age she is she is still inexperienced with a sword.

Lerris held the knife still, but turned to look to the newcomer, he turned back to the one whom his knife sat ready to kill...and took a step back."Uuma ma' ten' rashwe, ta tuluva a' lle.." (Don't look for trouble, it will come to you.)Said the elf to the newcomer. "Mani naa essa en lle?" (What is your name?) asked the elf as he eyed each of them.

The elf smiled, "My name is Crescent." She bowed her head slightly, making her hair fall about her face. "And this is Night. He never leaves my side." She pulled back some of her robes to reveal a large black wolf with strange eyes. "Now that you know me and him. May I ask whom you may be?"

Lerris flipped the knife around in his hand, finally grasping the hilt tightly to stop it. "Lerris...Saphire" Said the elven scout as he slipped the knife back into its sheath. "And this...well is my training grounds i suppose.." He looked to the dead man that lay behind him, "Now...I must return to Master Abbot..." Mumbled the elf as he turned. As he started walk he stopped, turning his head to the cloaked figure, "Don't sneek up on people...it could get you killed.." He smirked, "Just like him.." He slowly made is way back to "master" Abbot in Mirkwood.

"Well he is a strange creature." She said with a soft smile. Crescent turned her gaze towards the cloaked figure, but said nothing. "Come Night. Perhapes we'll meet up with Lerris later." With that said they both returned to the shadows.

As Lerris entered the small building Abbot looked up slowly, “Good evening Lerris..How was practice..” Lerris sighed, “A man tried to kill me....he wasn’t successful..” Abbot shook his head. “What happened?” Lerris paced the room and told him the whole story, about the cloaked figure and the young elf as he finished Abbot stood. “It’s time...I knew it would be eventually..” He opened a large wooden chest and pulled free a short sword, it’s pure black blade gleamed in the moonlight that shone through the open window. “This is Raven..I fought with it years ago...many years..” Said the Elven Blade Master. “Take it Lerris...You will need it...You leave Mirkwood Tomorrow..” Lerris shook his head. “What are you talking about?!”
Abbot sighed, "We want you too find something...perhaps find you identity while your at it Lerris.." The young elf shook his head, "What do you meen?" Asked Lerris as Abbot pulled free a small peice of parchment. "It's called "The wolf claw" which isnt really the real name...Its a large claw like weapon forged years ago by the dark lord, we fear if he finds it..all is lost..Thats where you come in my friend.." Lerris shook his head, It wasn't all that odd to send a scout after such a thing that might not even exsist. "When do I leave?" Abbout handed him the parchment. "As soon as possible..."

Night roamed about the forest as Crescent sat high up within the trees. It was seemingly calm and peaceful, but looks can be very deceiving, the elf didn’t seem to care really. She jumped down from her perch and landed lightly upon the ground, Night was no where to be seen. Crescent sighed, “Where could he have gone to now?!” She started to wander through the forest, hoping to find the wolf.

Lerris changed into his white tunic and light chain mail, then his long sleeve black shirt. He quickly took a hold of his longbow throwing it over his shoulder, packing as many arrows as he could into his quiver now strapped to his hip. He opened the small case Raven and it’s sheath were kept in, Lerris sheathed the sword and opened the door of his small room. He made his way to the spot where Master Abbot had said to meet, and suddenly he found himself starring at the same young elfess once again. “Hello again...” started the elve, “Are you lost my dear?” He asked raising an eyebrow.
~DarkSky~
06-12-2004, 09:18 AM
Crescent slightly smiled, "No I am not lost. I’m just looked for my over grown pup Night, he seemed to have wondered off, but I guess he will eventually come back when he wants." She said softly starring at him.
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 09:21 AM
Lerris nodded slightly, "A wolf should be allowed to wonder when he needs..." He shakes his head,
"Perhaps..He has gone towards Dol Guldur..that is where I am headed..perhaps you would like to join me..Lady....Crescent right?" He asked.
~DarkSky~
06-12-2004, 09:26 AM
"You are somewhat right. A wolf should be able to wander when he wants, but.." She shook her head, "Never mind it doesn’t matter." Crescent said softly. "Just call me Crescent, I am not a Lady nor anything else. Well it seems I have nothing better to do, I will join you."
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 09:29 AM
Lerris noded and started walking towards Dol Guldur, hoping the young one would follow. "I am sorry If i seemed rude back when we first met.." Started the elven scout, "I was not in a good mood after a failed attempt on my life.." He smirked and looked to her as he slowly walked south towards the rather large moutain.
~DarkSky~
06-12-2004, 09:34 AM
"No need for apologies, I doubt anyone would be in a very good mood if I do say so myself." Crescent said as her strange eyes were fixed ahead of her. "I would know I guess." She lost herself in her own thoughts.
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 09:43 AM
Lerris nodded feeling that it was not his place to question her words. After a time of walking in silence Lerris could see Master Abbot standing alone clutching what looked like another peice or parchment. "That elf is Blade Master Abbot, he taught me everything I know..." He said to Crescent as he made his way towards Abbot. "Master Abbot!" shouted the elf scout, the old elven man looked up slowly and smiled.
~DarkSky~
06-12-2004, 09:56 AM
Crescent walked slowly towards the two, not really in a hurry with her time. When she was now standing in front of him she starred at him intently. "Hello there." She said in her soft tone of voice.

06-12-2004, 10:39 AM
((OOC: this is what you do when I sleep?! hehe))
Rowen was not accustomed to being ignored. She had left sometime inbetween, but had returned for the hoped of a fight. The man looked well and able - and had weaponry to offer once he was dead. To steel, of course. She approached, again, finding there were more than before.
"This scene has not changed much," she said, the words rolling off her tongue. "I hope I am not... intruding."
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 10:56 AM
Abbot nodded to Lerris and bowed slightly to Crescent, "Hello hello, to the both of you..Lerris who is your friend here?" He asked raising an eyebrow to him, then turning his gaze on Crescent. "You from around here?" asked the old Blade master.
Lerris quickly turned to see the same cloaked figure as before. "The last time we met, I told you not to sneak up on people...obviously you didn't listen.." He pulled free Raven with a flick of his wrist. "Now, I really don't wish to fight you...and I'm sure neither do both of them...Please, remove the hood..show your face..." He flipped the sword in his hands readying himself.
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 11:05 AM
"I am not accustomed to being commanded," she grinned under her hood. "But, since you do not know me, I'll yield to your will this time.
She unlaced her cloak, and let it fall to the ground, revealing her true appearance. She had untraditionally short bloodred hair, and a blue headset. Her clothes consisted of mostly red, and definitely feminine - but not something she couldn't fight in. She was armed with two daggers and a sword.
"I am called Rowen," she introduced herself. "Rowen Blackhawk, orphan of Philip Delacroix, and slayer of wargs, trolls, and man, at your service."
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 11:15 AM
Lerris eyed the sword and daggers, still holding Raven with a tight grasp. "I am Lerris Saphire, Elven Scout of Mirkwood...Under diffrent cricumstances it would be a pleasure to meet you, you look like a fine warrior.." Lerris shifted his gaze to Abbot whom now had his hand on the hilt of his longsword. "Stand down Master Abbot....I feel she means no harm..yet.." He slowly sheaths Raven and takes a step forward. "Arwen en amin, Lotesse amin Mani naa lle umien?" (My lady, May I ask, what are you doing, *following us...) Lerris smirked "Do you really wish to fight?"
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 11:25 AM
"After a fashion," she grinned, more to herself than to him. "I was looking for a duel, nothing more. A duel, and perhaps a wager. My luck with theft has gone dry recently - seeing as I am not my uncle, I can only expect that. Perhaps I can try a different approach. Do you accept?"
If you don't, perhaps theft will be my only choice.
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 11:55 AM
Lerris slowly drew Raven once again, "Amin khiluva lle a' gurtha ar' thar" (I will follow you to death and beyond) He said placing the blunt side of the blade on his forehead. Spinning the blade in his fingertips, he let the sword come to a rest at his hip. "When you are ready...Just remember..I do not wish to fight you...but you have now accepted an attmept at my life..." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "And I do not plan on dieing.."
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 03:07 PM
"Dear me," she grinned. "I had no intention on taking your life, just your sword. Are you a gambling man, Sir Saphire? Whomever draws first blood, shall we say? You win, you can keep the Xakaryas," she drew her sword. "I win, perhaps I can take that pretty weapon of yours off of your hands, eh?"
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 03:16 PM
Lerris shakes his head, "You choose..either you die today..or we do not fight..choose one fool..I hope you choose right.." He says gripping the sword with white knuckles, Abbot takes a step back at the tone in Lerris' voice for he has never heard nor seen the young elf so angry...
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 03:18 PM
This had not been her intent. She didn't like the fact he had friends with him. She didn't like the fact they could defend him if they chose.
She touched the point of her sword to his, and took a fighting stance.
"Only one will die today," she told him. "And it won't be me. Just one clarification. I don't want any of your allies to interrupt. There's only one of me, and I would much rather not fight all of you."
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 03:22 PM
Lerris smirks, "This is your last chance Rowen...Please...I don't want to kill you.." He says readying his sword. "Please..." He turns to the others, "Both of you stay out of this.." he turns back to Rowen, "Last chance.."
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 03:28 PM
She did a small bow to Saphire. She would not give up that easily.
"Touche."
She clashed her sword on his with prowess. She had been trained only her whole life. Since Delacroix was dead, she could only assume apprentice had outdone the master, on her part.

Lerris let go of himself, letting the sword flow without his consent, blocking, stabbing, slicing. The sound of metal on metal rang throughout the forest, yet Lerris heard nothing...The sword was him, he was the sword. Nothing else mattered, nothing but the stain of blood on Lerris' sword by the end of the day....
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 03:36 PM
"You are skilled," Rowen remarked. "You're no amateur."
The sound of metal brought Rowen great pleasure. To fight - to win, that was the purpose in her being. It was her life. And destined to be her death - someday. After she had gained abundance in wealth.
She thrust forward, her sword. She gave little notice to the wounds she now bore from his sword. Pain was trivial. If it had been her chosen wager, she would not have let it happen.

06-12-2004, 03:45 PM
As Lerris faught a voice in his head repeated "..Flow through the gaps in her guard. Cut her. Cut her down utterly. Don't allow her a breath. Crush her. Cut her without mercy to the depths of her spirit. They show you none...you show them none.." He continued fighting, blocking, stabbing and cutting as fast as he could..anything for the kill...anything...
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 03:51 PM
Rowen backed. Her fun was over. Time to get serious.
She blocked more vigorously now, not letting him touch her with his blade. He was good.
She developed a pattern. Block, hit low, don't draw blood... if she was to catch him off guard, she would have to bide her time.
She came close - very close. Dangerously close. She could only hope she was at a bad angle to be hit.
Her sword curved around him, and cut his cheek. Blood. True, second blood, but she was pleased.
She pushed herself back. In comparison, she looked worse than he, but she felt as though she could beat him any day. Call it pride, or call it confidence, she was ready for him.

Lerris circled her slowly, He flipped the sword to his right hand. "You know...." started the elven scout, "I suppose..death has got to be easy...." He flipped the sword back to his left hand..and stopped. "Today I was to leave to find and ancient weapon forged by the dark one..it was called..The Wolfs claw...that is not its real name.." Said the elf. "The real name is "Morsul" Or in your human language...The Black Wind..." Lerris smirked as he stood there blood dripping down his cheek. "It was named this..because it will take your life as fast as the wind blows...." Lerris' smirk formed into a straight face, "So...all I ask is death as quick as that.." The elf dropped to his knees, "Kill me...I am tierd of this life....No more fighting..no more death..peace...that is all I ask..now kill me....." When she didn't moved he screamed "KILL ME!!!"
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 04:04 PM
((OOC: say what?))
What? The Black Wind? Granted, she had never heard of it. Granted, it could be a trap. Granted, he could be a liar. But she would take that risk.
"Black Wind," she inquired. "Tell me where."
She kept her sword at the ready. It was a trap, she was almost sure.

Lerris looked up to her "We both can live..can you not see this?" He slowly rose to his feet and turned, "keep the bloody sword theif..I Have no use for it.." He walked slowly over to Abbot "Forgive me Master Abbot..I have lost your sword.." Abbot shook his head "It's just Abbot now Lerris..." The elven scout nodded.

06-12-2004, 04:19 PM
Lerris turned just quick enough and threw his knife down onto the dagger both of them hitting the ground with a *thud*. "Amin n'rangwa edanea.." Rowenna
06-12-2004, 04:26 PM
"I aim to please," she said smoothly. "But I'm not done. Perhaps I will kill you, as you requested. You clearly aren't enjoying yourself in life."
She grinned. She never knew when to give up.
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 04:31 PM
Lerris did not even turn "Perhaps you should girl...perhaps it is time you took a life.." He picked up his knife and walked to the women slowly. As he reache her he placed the knife in her hands, "My neck is here..slit it like a cowered.." He said sliding a finger across his neck, "Just know..When my life is done..And I sit in the afterlife in my peace..and you still live your horrible life.." He takes a step closer so he is inches from her face, "I am the one whom has truely won this duel...." He stares into her eyes "Now kill me...I want you too look right into my eyes and kill me..."
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 04:37 PM
Excuse me?
If he though she had anything left inside, he was wrong. All there was, was greed, and pride.
"I don't believe in a painless death."
She threw down her weapon, and drew back her fist, before she collided it his his face. Though she was woman, her strength was formidable. She drew up her second dagger, and thrust it into his shoulder.
"You still wanna toy with me?"
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 04:44 PM
Lerris did not even flinch at the pain of the dagger "DO NOT WASTE MY TIME HUMAN!" shouted the elf as he stood slowly, as he got to his feet, he pulled free the dagger from his shoulder. "Neither do I.." He handed her the dagger once more. "Now one last time Human..." Before she could react another dagger appeared in his hand and was now in her shoulder. "Bringer of death.." He whispered into her ear.
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 04:48 PM
Now that hurt.
She winced at the pain, but her voice did not waver.
"Bringer of death, huh? 'd make a nice title."
She cursed under her breath as she pulled it from her shoulder, and let it fall to the ground.
"There's no beating you, huh?"
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 04:51 PM
Lerris smirked through the blood that stained his face and clothes, through each heavy breath he spoke. "Death has gotta be easy because life is hard.." His smirk fades "So...shall we dance...My Dance with death has just begun.."
((Have to go for now bye!))

06-12-2004, 05:05 PM
Even in such a state, Rowen did not - could not - lose her foolish pride.
"You haven't won yet," she insisted, blood running down her sleeve. What was originally trivial was catching up to her. "Antolle ulua sulrim."
She picked up Xakaryas with her good arm, while the other remained limp.
She made another attempt at an attack, her breath becoming heavy.
"I play to win. Do understand me?!"
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 05:45 PM
Lerris had dodge the attack, and rolled to his sword. Grabbing Raven tightly with his good arm, he stood. "Answer me this..What do you plan on winning?" He asks raising an eyebrow. "There is no prize for my head..." Blood drips down off his fingertips as he speaks, taking a deep breath his whole body heaves.
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 05:51 PM

"Winning is it's own prize."
She raised her weapon, yet again, and struck.

Dodging once again Lerris shook his head. "I wish that you would of chosen to give up while you could." He quickly stabbed at her, catching her in the shoulder slightly, quickly he pulled the sword out and spun it in his hands. He brought the sword up to finish her off......

She had never been at such a disadvantage in her life. She had been stabbed, yet again, which was already more than she could take - not that she would believe that. She was too stubborn to admit her own frailty.
"Auta miqula orqu," she spat at him, as she prepared to defend herself - but as she attempted to raise her weapon, her body would not cooperate. Instead, she fell to her knees, her breath labored. She refused to let go of her sword. As long as she still had it, she was still a threat.

Rowenna
((OOC: i don't know how to say 'touch to' in any middle earth language, and it sounds stupid in english, so yeah...))
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 03:32 PM
Ragnar Sten

Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 04:11 PM
Lerris spat at her feet, "I am done talking to you..." He threw the sword to his side, "Now..do you have it in you girl?...to take the life of an innocent Elf?" Lerris looked up to her "We both can live..can you not see this?" He slowly rose to his feet and turned, "keep the bloody sword theif..I Have no use for it.." He walked slowly over to Abbot "Forgive me Master Abbot..I have lost your sword.." Abbot shook his head "It's just Abbot now Lerris..." The elven scout nodded.
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 04:16 PM
"Well, maybe I'm not done with you," she growled. The fight was not over yet. She unsheathed on of her daggers. She skillfully aimed for the leg as she threw it towards him, with every intention to disable him.
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 04:19 PM
Lerris turned just quick enough and threw his knife down onto the dagger both of them hitting the ground with a *thud*. "Amin n'rangwa edanea.." (I don't understand these Humans) He sighed and stood muttering something in elvish about Humans. As he stood, not even turning back to the women, he spoke. "Amin feuya ten' lle...." He said.
Rowenna
Rowenna
"I will manage," she said, not doubting it. The actual chances of defeating him were nil.
"Winning is it's own prize."
She raised her weapon, yet again, and struck.
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 05:55 PM
Dodging once again Lerris shook his head. "I wish that you would of chosen to give up while you could." He quickly stabbed at her, catching her in the shoulder slightly, quickly he pulled the sword out and spun it in his hands. He brought the sword up to finish her off......
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 06:01 PM
She had never been at such a disadvantage in her life. She had been stabbed, yet again, which was already more than she could take - not that she would believe that. She was too stubborn to admit her own frailty.
"Auta miqula orqu," she spat at him, as she prepared to defend herself - but as she attempted to raise her weapon, her body would not cooperate. Instead, she fell to her knees, her breath labored. She refused to let go of her sword. As long as she still had it, she was still a threat.
Ragnar Sten
06-12-2004, 06:10 PM
Lerris smirked as he held his sword above his head, "Quel kaima.." He brought the hilt of his sword down onto the back of her head...hopefully knocking her unconsicous.. He backed away slowly, using his sword to hold himself up...Is she out? Have I finally put an end to this fight...?
Rowenna
06-12-2004, 06:14 PM
Rowen fell to her back, her grip on Xakaryas failing. She would never live down her loss. She had killed trolls before - what was so different about an elf? At the moment, she was rather certain she was dead, so, truly, she was very much... out.
