((First off, I will somewhat be playing two Characters, but mostly Fain. This takes place in Mirkwood for now..I DO have an idea for this thread, So plese stick with the story. *no one liners* Have fun and Please Join)))
~~Lerris~~
With a laugh, Lerris shook his head at the young elf, “No, not like that, watch how I do it.” Taking a few steps back, he repeated the basic quarterstaff form, moving slowly and emphasising the movement so as to simplify it further for Fain. Fain seemed to have trouble with certain weapons, other then the sword. He was going to need a substantial number of lessons before he was fit to use a staff in a real fight. Still, if Fain needed to defend himself, a sword seemed to always be at his side.
"All right, let’s try something else. I’ll use a sword and you attack me with that staff....” Lerris picked up a practice sword, one which he had made from a fallen tree branch. Fain took a step back mimicking the exact stance Lerris had been in not a minute ago. "The sword is always the inferior weapon if the wielder of the staff is skilled.” Fain spun into attack, and Lerris blocked easily. Fain circled his mentor and went for Lerris' legs, Lerris lept over the swipe and barely dodged a shot at his torso. Lerris saw his opening and went for Fain's stomach, Fain dodged, but not quick enough as the tip of the practice sword "sliced" across the elven boys torso. Fain became angry and stabbed towards him with the staff, using it sort of like a spear. No success there, since Lerris dodged and promptly disarmed the unprepared young elf. "Do not let your emotions get to you like that Fain, when using the Staff you must let it fight for you..not against you.."
~~Fain~~
Lerris laughed and shook his head as Fain stood there starring at his mentor. "No, not like that, watch how I do it.” Taking a few steps back, he repeated the basic quarterstaff form, moving slowly and emphasising the movement so as to simplify it further for him. Fain nodded as he watched Lerris do the simple menuver, Lerris sure seemed to like to practice with that staff. Fain himself prefered a good sword to any Blackstaff, but if Lerris wanted to teach him the staff, Fain would try. "All right, let’s try something else. I’ll use a sword and you attack me with that staff....” Lerris said handing the Blackstaff back to Fain, and picking up his practice sword. "The sword is always the inferior weapon if the wielder of the staff is skilled.” Fain nodded his agreement, he would of argued about it..but now just did not seem like the right time. Quickly Fain tried to spin into attack but was blocked off as Master Lerris dodged quickly. Fain thought he saw and opening and went for the legs, as Lerris moved he went straight for his torso, missing him barely. Lerris struck quickly and skimmed Fain's naked torso, Fain bit his lip and continued to attack. Feeling fed up with the staff he went after Master Lerris with a jabbing type of menuver. Lerri dodged each one and unarmed Fain in one quick swoop. Fain's body heaved with each breath as Lerris spoke, "Do not let your emotions get to you like that Fain, when using the Staff you must let it fight for you..not against you.." Fain nodded, "Yes Master Lerris...But I.." "I know, I know, you prefer a sword in your hand." Lerris said cuting him off, Fain smirked and drank from a barrel of water, splashing most on his face. He took a seat leaning against the small house they had built and spoke. "Master Lerris....I know some of your history....and I want to ask you a question." Lerris nodded, "I will try and answer.." Fain thought for a moment and spoke, "Have you ever....Killed someone...." Fain thought for a moment and added to it, "For another reason then self defense...?" Lerris took a deep breath, "I'm afraid so lad...That is one thing I no longer want to remember.." Fain nodded, and stood. "I'm going to train a bit more back in the woods, I'll be at your spot if you need me.." Lerris nodded and Fain wondered off.
~~Lerris~~
"Have you ever killed someone.......for another reason then self defense?" Yes, of course was the answer, in blind rage Lerris had struck down his old Blademaster Abbot, and almost killed Rowen. "I'm afraid so lad...That is one thing I no longer want to remember.." Fain nodded and stood. "I'm going to train a bit back in the woods, I'll be at your spot if you need me.." Fain turned off and Lerris nodded as the young lad went out of sight. Lerris went inside and sat down in his chair, pulling out a book to read..anything to get his mind off BladeMaster Abbot....Espically get his mind off Rowen. He could still remember the look on Abbots face...it was horrible and it haunted him everyday...Lerris took a deep breath and thought.
~~Fain~~
Fain found the spot Lerris had trained at all those years ago. He quickly unsheathed Raven, the sword named after the one Lerris had got many years back by his master. Fain went into the fighting stance Arc of the moon. He swung forward and dodged the imginary counter attack.
Hours passed as the elf practiced and he stopped as he realized the moon had replaced the sun. He threw his tunic over his shoulder and sheathed Raven at his side.
As he walked the woods he hummed to himself, unaware of whatever was watching him from afar. Suddenly he stopped and realized eyes where on his back, he turned quickly but found nothing but empty woods. As he turned around a figure stood not 10 feet infront of him, he unsheathed Raven dropping his tunic to the forest floor. "Master Lerris?" questioned Fain even though he knew it was not him. "Identify yourself.." Muttered Fain through gritted teeth.

He was alone in the wood - Rowen had left him again. She said it was a means of training, but he didn't quite trust her. There were too many secrets she revolved around to be true.
Byron was sharpening his blade - from an elf his mistress had killed some time ago. His black eyes dwelled on everything that moved, at the slightest notice. At the time, it happened to be an elf.
"Identify yourself," he heard him say.
He smiled grimly.
"I see no reason why I should," Byron said coldly. Rowen had told him, time after time, never to reveal himself. Ever.

Fain smirked, atleast it was...human... "If you would rather die, have it your way. I won't show mercy like my master..." Fain took a step closer going into the fighting stance Wooping crane.
He spun the pure black blade in his hand and pointed it at the humans throat. "So...do you want it through your throat or your stomach?" He questioned.

"Instigating a fight, are we," Byron said in an icy voice, his gaze cold. His grip tightened around his sword, the Eclipse, before he swung it heavy handedly against the weapon of the elf, making sure it was away from his throat - he remembered the first thing Rowen said when she accepted him as an apprentice. She said it was a bad idea to lower an opponents sword with one's hand - he tried it once. It ended badly.
"I'd accept... but I'm not entirely sure you are worth it."

Fain had not been back for several hours and Lerris had set out to find him. As he walked he found the small "Fight" between Fain and this man, Lerris decided to watch instead of stop it all. Fain had to learn to handle himself on his own, thus Lerris sat..if it got out of hand he could stop it...he hoped..

"Amin khiluva lle a' gurtha ar' thar...Caela ie'lle!" Fain said through gritted teeth as he lunged at the man, swinging Raven over his head he brought it down and stabbed towards the man's left shoulder....

Byron didn't speak elvish - he didn't know what it was the elf told him, but he sure as hell didn't take it as a complement.
When the elf's blade hit, Byron glared in fury, as he slammed Eclipse against the opposing sword. He slid his weapon forward, with every intent of cutting the elf's neck. Byron was bleeding, he knew that very well - but he wasn't about to let a wound like that get in the way. He hadn't been seriously expecting a fight, but what was done was done, and there was no use in going back.

From the trees a tall Half-Elf stumbled out, she was clothed in a cream and brown coloured dress that flowed down to the ground and she had waist-length snow white hair that was streaked thickly with a dark brown, she had a cut on her left arm and blood dripped from mouth, she looked at the two engaged in a small battle and then her eyes moved to the one seated on the ground, she shook her head and then frowned before cautiously and quietly moving other to him, she kept a fair distance away from the two engaged in combat

Fain slashed with fury, hate and anger. He didn't know who this mortel was and he sure as hell did not care, all that mattered was the kill. As the blades met Fain lept back and twirled the sword in his left hand, bringing the tip to the ground as he went to one knee. Suddenly he came up slashing the sword skywards, tying to cut open the man in blind rage...
~~Lerris~~
Lerris shook his head in thought, he could see the anger in Fain's eyes and he did not like it. He noticed the women, but did not really care..this was getting out of hand..he could not have Fain killing the man. He lept to his feet and made for the two, blackstaff in hand....

Lerris threw himself between the man and Fain, disarming Fain with his staff he turned to smack the man in the stomach with the other end. As Fain struggled to his feet, he almost lunged at Lerris before he realized it was his master. "Fain it's me calm down lad.." He turned to the man whom Fain faught, and noticed it to be that Byron fellow whom fights with Rowen..he prayed Rowen was not near by..he did not feel like a fight.
