Er - another thing, people have a tendency to ask me where these posts occur - whoever wants to can make it up, I don't really care. I dun like geography anyway...))
Dreams... once upon a time, her dream was of power, and position. Money. If it was ever possible for a dream to come true, then what of all the nightmares? Her nightmare was a prison - chains, confinement, humiliation. In the forest, there were no locked doors, no chains, but if ever, this was her nightmare manifest.
The heavy clouds above threatened to spill as Rowen walked along the boarders of the clearing, her knife cutting into the tree bark as she passed by. The wounds from her previous encounter had long since healed - however, it would take much longer for her pride to accomplish the same achievement.
What was her previous encounter? A ten foot by twelve prison cell, and a whole lot of incompetent guards that took her down, and inside. She couldn’t entirely blame Byron for being infuriated with her - hearing the explanation coming out of her own mouth made her wince. All she could say now was... what could she say? The past was still relevant - blatant proof that she was, and would always be, trapped in the prison she had fashioned for herself over the years. She couldn’t find anything in reach that was going to get her out of this. In the long run... In the long run, she had to look out for Byron. Despite that she didn’t like him at times, she wasn’t leaving him in the dust, not for anyone, or anything. The truth didn’t help matters.
There was a line of broken bark on the trees as she wandered from the camp - not far, never far. She was scared - she wasn’t supposed to be afraid. She was Rowen Blackhawk - she didn’t get scared. But now she was. It started from the battle at Rohan, when she was scared for Byron, and now it progressed to here. d*mn it, why? What had she done to deserve this? Okay, there were a few outstanding crimes to consider, but just a few! Or slightly more than...
She heard the sounds of another in her midst. She turned around sharply, the dagger leaving her hand, imbedding itself in a tree, next to the person’s head. If this was another bounty hunter... if this was another bounty hunter, they would not profit from her.

Rudger had heard the sound of someone walking and had tracked them down. He came around from behind a tree to see who it was to find that a dagger had barely missed his head. He looked from the dagger to the person who threw it and saw it was Rowen.
"Now what kind of way is that to treat old friends" he said smiling obviously not expecting it would of been her who he had heard.

"What do you want," Rowen glared at the ranger. She didn't like him, ergo she didn't want to see him. She was just about ready to kindly as her aid to cut off Rudger's head, and stick it on a pike as a warning to the next ten generations - but she wasn't in the mood.

He shuttered at the voice and almost fell from the tree when he saw whom the voice belonged too. He took a deep breath trying his best to keep it quite so as not to draw the attention from others let alone her, he let his fore-arm drag across his forehead wiping the sweat away and ending on the black staff strapped to his back.
He checked for about the hundredth time that night to make sure it was still there. He didn't like climbing trees, at night, where people could mistake you for just about everything and end your night with an arrow through the chest. But for now it was much safer then the ground with and angry Rowen and a man who looked like she was about to rip to pieces. His brown eyes shifted from the two, too his next tree that should make his way around them.
He lept, taking a hold of the branch and almost slipping letting pine-needles rain-down near the two. He winced... Stupid Elf Lerris said under his breath looking down too see if either of them noticed, he prayed they keep talking......

Rowen didn't like the fact that Rudger had turned his back on her, right after flat out insulting her. She had fantasies about giving him a scar to remember - though her thoughts were interrupted by a voice.
"Stupid elf."
Rowen traced the voice back to it's source. Aw, hell no...

Rowen's grip tightened around the dagger. She would have liked to say no one had died because of her since Rohan. She would have really liked to say that. But it would have been a lie - a whole hell of a lot of people were gone in one stroke than she had done over the years. All the same, she didn't want it to happen again - even as much as she loathed Saphire.
"Mani uma lle merna," she said in a low voice. Her eyes were cold, empty of emotion. Any joy for fighting she had was gone, and it showed - all that was left was ice.

Lerris wanted to look away more then anything, but he kept his gaze on her eyes as he spoke. "umma ma' ten' rashwe, Rowen..." "Lle tela," she asked, which translated to 'are you finished'? She didn't want to fight.. well, she did, but she didn't - the d*mned mental block that showed up at the prison was still with her - she hated it to no end. It stopped her once from doing what she needed to do - it wasn't just some other fight, but for once, she had an obligation, and she blew it. "Or should I find a seat and get comfortable?"
Ragnar Sten
08-24-2004, 06:08 PM
Lerris shrugged, "Look, Rowen, I don't want to argue with you or anyone for that matter. I'm here, for now, even if I don't want to be i'm still here talking to you." Lerris shook his head and sighed at the same time, and finally realized he was arguing with Rowen as a man watched on. "Ya naa tanya?" He said pointing over his shoulder with a thumb.
Rowenna
08-24-2004, 06:17 PM
"A ranger," Rowen said in the same tone of voice she had used all along. "I suggest you ignore his presence."
Her dagger was still in her hand - she would have killed him right then and there if the timing had been different - possibly so far back as before the battle at Rohan had ever happened.
Before a second had passed, Rowen had come to the awful realization that Saphire didn't understand - nor did Rudger, nor even Byron. The only person who could possibly have the slightest clue was long dead. And her nightmare manifest could only continue.
Ragnar Sten

Lerris shook his head,
forget the other person, yeah sure...
Lerris wasn't really sure what he was doing here standing next to a women would would just as quickly kill him as she would say hello. He ran a hand through his brown hair as his eyes darted to the Ranger, no need to worry about him, it's not like Rowen and that guy would jump him, she didn't look to fond of the other human anyway. "Lle fiose amin Rowen....." Lerris didn't know why he said that, it just came out...Perhaps because he was expecting an attack rather then a talk....
Rowenna
08-24-2004, 06:54 PM
"Are you," Rowen retaliated. He didn't know, he didn't really know what she felt just then, so how was it he could make that kind of statement? Before she knew it, her hands were on the front of his clothing, the knife at his neck. No. No, she wasn't going to do anything, oh, but she wanted to. She wanted to more than she could humanly express - she just couldn't.
Ragnar Sten
08-24-2004, 07:05 PM
For the first time, Lerris did nothing....He simply looked at her, letting her stick the dagger to his neck. "Amin merna ta....ar' sinta lle, Ona ta' a' amin.....Gurth goth llie lye!"
I want it, Give it too me....I know you...Death to your foe!
Lerris said without a move, or even a blink...The brown eyes of the elf starred back at hers, not flinching from her gaze or the knife that could any second meet his neck. He didn't know what he was doing...it seemed right..he hoped, he prayed it was.
Rowenna
08-24-2004, 07:14 PM[/i]
The knife trembled at his neck - she wanted to - he told her to - but she knew she couldn't. His words weren't like an order or request or anything - when it met her ears, it were as if he was taunting her, naming off exactly what her mind wouldn't let her do since Rohan. d*mn it all...
She nicked his cheek, as a gesture of spite, before she backed down, slightly.
Ragnar Sten
08-24-2004, 07:20 PM
Lerris c*cked his head to the women, shook his head even.... "lle tyava quel?" Lerris asked raising and eyebrow to her.
Did he really care? The human wasn't going to kill him....?
Lerris stood still taking a deep breath in somewhat relief, "So what happens now Rowen? Do I leave? Do we both leave?" The Elf questioned, he wiped the sweat from his brow, and half way across his forehead he realized what had just happened. She was about to kill him and he was about to let her! What had just happened? Had he just gone insane?!
Rowenna
08-24-2004, 07:29 PM
"Don't get so excited," she said, hiding the fact she was scared - scared someone was going to find out how weak minded she really was. The knife was still in her hand, and still leveled with Saphire. But she couldn't do a thing, and she knew it. For once - ever really - she wished her master was there, some voice of reason to tell her what to do. Well, he wasn't, and she wasn't getting drunk again just to see him.

Rudger was watching the two and listening to everything they said. He found it quite amusing really and had to stop him self from laughing a few times. So he just smiled slightly to himself.
Rowenna

"Agaryulnaer," she insulted Saphire. Blood-sucker. She doubted the possibility that the ranger, who was apparently ever present, could understand what she was saying. "Do you really want to know what's wrong, Saphire, or are you just trying to find away so you can pass the time before you stab me in the back?"
The dagger was still in position to stab him at a moment's notice. She didn't know what she wanted anymore, she just knew it has always been like this, and change wasn't coming any time soon.
Ragnar Sten
08-25-2004, 03:16 PM
Lerris shook his head, Did he really care? No, or so he thought but out of his mouth came, "Yes Rowen, I do....What is going on here? I offer you the chance at my life, and you do nothing but give me a little slice across the cheek....what is wrong with you?!" This time he shouted, for no reason really, what was going on here?!
Rowenna
08-25-2004, 03:34 PM
Rowen grabbed the front of his clothing, a dangerous look in her eyes. He was there. Why wasn't he affected the same way she was? Was she completely alone?
"Do you have some kind of death wish," she retaliated. She shook her head. "You were there," she said coldly. "You were at Rohan. I can only assume you weren't paying attention."
She almost lost everything at Rohan. She didn't want to risk it anymore, but now she was stuck - her escape was either suicide or prison, and she wasn't going to do either.
Ragnar Sten
08-25-2004, 03:48 PM
Lerris took a deep breath, "Listen Human, I TRY to not remember Rohan, I don't even want to see any of those people ever AGAIN let alone you!" The elf spat, he pushed Rowen away pulling free his staff and taking her feet out from under her. "It's not as fun when the Rabbit has the weapon to your neck now is it?" His body heaved with each breath he took, "You have stuck that dagger in my face two times, there will not be a third!" Yelled the elf.
Rowenna
08-25-2004, 04:01 PM
"Dolle naa lost," she hissed. Your head is empty. She wasn't about to tell him about the prison - she was positive he wanted her there to begin with. And she wasn't telling him that she let dozens of people die, without lifting so much as a finger to help. She couldn't imagine that piece of information doing anything for anyone. No one needed to know. She didn't want to know, but she chose to dwell on it regardless.
Rowen kicked the staff out of her face, stepping on it to prevent it from being used against her again. She stood, the dagger at the ready.
"Does this count as a third time?"
Ragnar Sten
08-25-2004, 05:29 PM
Lerris smirked, so...it's come down to childish insults.
"Nadorhuan, get your foot off my staff and perhaps we can settle this...." The elf said gripping the other end with both hands, he had no other weapon besides his fists, which he would use if needed to get out of here alive. "So....what happens now Rowen?"
Rowenna
08-30-2004, 01:43 PM
What happens? What was supposed to happen? She couldn't kill him, despite how much she dearly wanted to. If she couldn't kill someone at the end of her sword, who was responsible for a hell of a lot more than Saphire was, then she couldn't expect herself to be capable of anything more. d*mn it all, she didn't know what in hell she was doing.
"Lau," she shook her head in response to the request to let go of his staff. No."Amin n'sinta." I don't know. That was about the most honest thing she could think to say. She never, ever, ever, ever, ever admitted to her own fault, but she wasn't herself that day - she hadn't been herself since Rohan. Her eyes were empty of emotion, any emotion, which was already different from the fire they once were. Despite that she had already said she wouldn't yield to Saphire's request, she removed herself from his staff. No, she didn't know in hell what she was doing.
Ragnar Sten
08-30-2004, 02:01 PM
Lerris looked at her dumb-founded, he could hardly see the fight left in her eyes, something was wrong....very wrong. He brought the staff up to lay across his shoulder and let his right eyebrow raise in surprise. "Lle lakwenien?" are you joking? The staff dug into his shoulder so the elf brought his staff down and shifted his weight onto it, "Lle.....lava?" do you yeild? Lerris shook his head, no this wasn't right at all.......
Rowenna
08-30-2004, 02:14 PM
"Do I look like I'm joking," she lashed out verbally. She seized the front of his clothing, this time, her knife nowhere near his neck. "I don't know, I don't know anymore."
She released her grip, and took a step back.
"I will get you. Just... not today."
She dropped the dagger to the ground, her expression lost. It was killing her - killing her to not be in control anymore. She didn't know what she was going to do about it, not yet.
Ragnar Sten
08-30-2004, 03:03 PM
Lerris slowly strapped his staff onto his back and shook his head as he saw the knife fall to the ground. He shook his head again, he almost wanted to just leave....let her walk away forget the fighting he had better things to do. But something odd happened, he....for some reason, wanted....to know what was wrong. He shook his head, WHY? He questioned himself over and over again, why should he care about her? For all he should be running the opposite direction....but he stood there, with a stupid look on his face and questioned
Why?
Rowenna
08-30-2004, 03:21 PM
"Why?! W-why what? Why - why didn't I kill you just now, why what?"
She didn't want him to know why - she wasn't going to lose face to anyone, least of all him. If she could not entrust such information with her own apprentice, then she sure as hell wasn't telling him... Why did he want to know? She would think he'd be pleased at her disposition. She knew very well that she wasn't exactly liked, so what made it matter? She herself didn't even think it mattered. It was her problem, and not anyone else's.
Rudger
08-30-2004, 03:28 PM
Rudger was standing behind Rowen. He listened to what they were saying. He really didn't understand either. If she hated him so much why didn't she just kill him.
"So shes not as tough as she acts eh?" he muttered to himself.
Ragnar Sten
08-30-2004, 07:12 PM
"You have no bloody idea edan......." Lerris said this "Rudger" still keeping his eyes on Rowen, no one had a better idea then Lerris the anger this women had within her...or well, so he thought. Something was horribly wrong and Lerris wanted a bloody answer on what was going on here. Not that he would get a straight answer if any out of that crazed women.....Lerris shook his head, something about what happened in Rohan, she kept referring to back then....
Lerris scratched his head, and he had been trying his best NOT to think about it earlier....
Rowenna
08-30-2004, 07:20 PM
"If you're not going to answer me, then it's all I can do to ask a question," Rowen said in an icy voice, ignoring the presence of the ranger. "What happens now?"
She knew she sure as hell didn't know - she couldn't say what she was doing, or where she was going, so there was no way she was going to add another question to the list. Why did the world pleasure in giving her questions with no answers? Payback, maybe? She kept her thoughts to herself as she waited for a sign that would tell her to leave, to fight - to do something rather than just stand there.
Ragnar Sten
08-30-2004, 07:31 PM
Lerris smirked, "Option one, we both leave here...alive....and go about or lives....I go back home, you go wherever the hell you want. I'm happy, you never see me again end of story." The elf said running a hand through his dark brown hair and sighing at the same time. "Option two, we fight, one of us dies one of us goes home a killer, the other.....well, the other...." Lerris' voice trailed off and he took a deep breath letting his gaze fall on Rowen. He shook his head, "please, Rowen...pick option one.....detholalle....." Your choice
Rowenna
08-30-2004, 07:44 PM
"In that case," Rowen looked at him. "Goodbye."
She waited for him to leave - she wasn't about to turn her back on him, not for a second. She wasn't getting stabbed in the back by the elf because she was stupid. Speaking of which, the ranger was someone to be wary of as well. But she wanted to pay attention more so to the one that had given her lasting injuries than the one who hadn't done anything worth recognition yet.
Ragnar Sten
08-30-2004, 07:48 PM
Lerris said a silent prayer and turned to leave, even though she still had her eyes on him. As he left he checked for his staff too make sure it was in place incase he needed to run, when nothing happened he smirked slightly to himself and c*cked his head towards Rowen. "Amin estela ta nauva anlema...." His smiled faded and he started walking to the east...
I hope it will be a long journey......

Rudger

Rudger was watching the two and listening to everything they said. He found it quite amusing really and had to stop him self from laughing a few times. So he just smiled slightly to himself.

Ragnar Sten

Rowenna

"Do I look like I'm joking," she lashed out verbally. She seized the front of his clothing, this time, her knife nowhere near his neck. "I don't know, I don't know anymore."
She released her grip, and took a step back.
"I will get you. Just... not today."
She dropped the dagger to the ground, her expression lost. It was killing her - killing her to not be in control anymore. She didn't know what she was going to do about it, not yet.
